The Full Cupboard
We’re committed to fighting food insecurity through our signature cause, The Full Cupboard. Since 2016 we have raised more than $781,000—equivalent to 2 million meals.
We believe in supporting local non-profit and charitable organizations that serve the most vulnerable in our communities. We create capacity in the social sector by leveraging our financial strength and our social vision, Lead Well. Through Lead Well, employees volunteer their time and skills to help our communities flourish.

Cancer touches many lives, including our colleague Lisa and her husband. With one in two British Columbians affected, we’ve committed $400,000 over four years to the BC Cancer Foundation through initiatives like the Workout to Conquer Cancer Challenge.
Established in 1996, the First West Foundation is our philanthropic partner and a federally registered charity. It has awarded over $12.6 million in grants, including $975,759 to 100 charities in 2024.
Working together
Our impact
Cowichan Valley Youth Services (CVYS) supports youth in strengthening relationships with themselves, their families, and their communities. In 2024–2025, Island Savings partnered with CVYS to provide over 900 hours of counselling to 30 youth aged 13–18, offering a safe, supportive space to build coping skills, improve communication, and navigate challenges toward a healthier future.
In 2024, Island Savings expanded its partnership with the Clements Centre to support The Mindful Mouthful, a social enterprise bakery creating meaningful employment for people with developmental disabilities. Funding enabled the purchase of essential equipment, helping increase production, grow revenue, and expand sustainable job opportunities in the community.
FED Urban Agriculture is a Victoria-based charity advancing food access, urban gardening, and community education. In 2024, FED grew 7,470 lbs of produce, of which 800 lbs were donated, launched the Community Harvest Program delivering 70 food boxes, and created mini gardens in underused spaces—while operating a social enterprise that educates and supplies fresh food locally.
